    Last Home Meet!

    Eels,

We are excited to host our last home meet of the season this Thursday and it will be the closest we come to a rival-type meet this season, so let's swim fast! Please read through completely for pertinent information regarding the team picture and parent relays!

    1. Our team will sit on the pergola deck and swimmers will sit in the section labeled with their age group sign. This makes them easier to find for our bullpen workers. Parents can set up on deck closer to the pool, but on that same side. Please leave a walkway between the raised deck and the last row of chairs for all the swimmers to get to the bullpen. We ask that swimmers not leave the pool area except to the concession stand and back. Please do not go on the playground.

    2. Our parking lot is small, so cars should park alongside the neighborhood roads. There may be a little walk, so bring a wagon if needed. Please also follow the signs directing you where to park (only one side of the road is allowed). We don't want to risk blocking emergency vehicles to our neighborhood houses. No parking is allowed at the entrance of the neighborhood.

    3. In the event of inclement weather, please clear the deck immediately and wait in your cars. You will receive a Remind text keeping you updated on the plan. Do not go in the clubhouse or stay out in the grass.

    4. Concessions will be available and is located outside the pool deck on the grass to the right of the clubhouse. We will have some great choices for dinner, so please come hungry! We accept Cash and Venmo. Some options will include burgers, hot dogs, chips, candy, drinks, and more. If you have not yet contributed drinks for concessions, please bring them Thursday morning or afternoon.  If we have leftovers, we will use them at the End of Season Party.

    5. Please have your athlete check-in at the table inside the gate upon arrival. They will be checked off and find out their warm-up time and lane.

    6. Our theme for the meet is Y2K! Heat winners will receive pastel and silver colored beads.

    7. The Heat Sheet is attached. They will only be printed for our coaches and officials, so please print your own if you would like a hard copy. The heat sheet, entries, and results are also available on the Swimtopia app. Results will be posted in hard copy on Thursday night as the meet progresses and sent out via email after the meet.

    8. Our bullpen is located on the home side of the pool. You will see the big green sign that says Bullpen and the event number that is needed in the bullpen. Bullpen and staging volunteers report to this location. Stroke and turn, as well as timers, will meet at the starter table-on the visitor side of the pool. Listen for those announcements! All volunteers are to report to your job station at least 15min prior to the meet start (or whatever time was instructed with your position) and Sprite will check you off as she comes around.

    9. We will have a cooler for refillable water bottles on deck that will be used for volunteers. Please bring a water bottle for refilling to stay hydrated on a warm evening!

We will also be having several "events" in addition to the meet:

Team Picture: Please arrive by 4:15 to be in place for the picture at 4:30. Please wear this years Evergreen Eels shirt. This will not be a professional picture. Coaches will help get the kids lined up (we have a method from year's past) and designated parents will take photos to share with the team. These will be sent out via email and on Facebook. Once the picture is complete and time allows, we will have 10-15 min for parents to take their own pictures of the kids on the steps or on the block, etc. Our warm-up will begin promptly at 5:00pm. Parents will not be able to place their chairs on deck until after the picture is complete.

Parent Relay: We will have parent relays at 5:50pm. This will consist of a mix of coaches and willing parents racing in groups of 4-6. Typically each person does a 50 freestyle from the blocks, but we welcome other strokes as well. We also encourage wacky relays with floaties and costumes. This is lots of fun and the kids love it! We have also invited parents/coaches from Hanarry West to join us. If you are a first shift volunteer and want to swim, that is no problem. You can change real quick after the race and be cooled down for your shift. We will allow a few extra minutes.

We're looking forward to a fun, fast meet! Please let us know if you have any questions. See you soon!
